Andersson - Lindegren - Hägg Richard Andersson: Sonata Johan Lindegren: - Grand Sonata Jakob Adolf Hagg: Sonata On this recording, Stefan Lindgren performs three Swedish piano compositions which, incomprehensively, have been silent for decades - three absolute treasures, testifying to the stature of Swedish piano music in the 19th century. None of them has been recorded previously, and a couple of them, probably, have not been performed in public for over a century. "Stefan Lindgren has already
proven himself one of Sweden's foremost pianists in a previous recording
of some classics of the piano repetoire. Another of his qualities - curiosity
- is demonstrated in this, his second solo recording, in which he revives
three practically unknown Swedish piano sonatas of supreme quality. It
is surprising that we can afford to let masterpieces remain forgotten and
unplayed for a hundred years, but that is what actually happened to these
sonatas. The three composers are not exactly household names, but in these
three pieces they have, presumably, given their very best.In this important
piano recording, Stefan Lindgren plays with love and empathy."
